Your laundry rooms are busy during the winter periods. With colder weather comes piles of hand-washing, more layers to run through the washer, and not to mention heavy lint and heaps of dust.
When we begin to spring clean, the laundry room is one of the most neglected.
To avoid that, highlighted below are 10 easy tips to making your laundry room in order:
1. Operate the washing machine on a full cycle using warm water and the largest load size. Add two cups of vinegar and half a cup of baking soda to the engine. After the process is completed and the machine has drained and come to a halt, wipe the interior to loosen the residue.
2. Clean the bleach and fabric softener receptacle and the lint trap in hot water or run it through the dishwasher.
3. Wipe down the exterior of the washer and dryer using a simple disinfectant. To add shine, use glass cleaner.
4. If your machines have removable knobs, first, write down where the knobs belong and gently pull them off the machines.
5. Soak in a mixture of warm soapy water with a half cup of white vinegar.
6. Then, use a soft cloth to clean the knobs. Dry and put back in position.
7. Remove the dryer hose. Use your vacuum with the round brush attachment tool to loosen and remove the lint.
8. Straighten the area with all of your laundry products. If powdered detergent is used, use your vacuum on the shelf on your vacuum brush attachment tool to remove spilled granules.
Vacuum any dust, including on wall trim and window sills.
9. Wipe down the outside of the liquid detergent containers.
After every dryer load, clean out the dryer lint screen by wiping it out using the fabric softener dryer sheet.
10. Lastly, sweep and wash the floor.
