After taking part in various events, there might be dirt and filth in your home. Many people don’t have the time to do the hard cleaning though. When you find yourself in such a situation, here are 4 Spring Cleaning tips that can help you get through it:

1. Invest in some kneepads

You may feel silly strolling at home with kneepads on, but your joints will thank you when you’re scrubbing that hard floors. Especially if you’re someone who cleans your home regularly, the wear and tear on your knees will slowly add up and give you aches and pain you could have avoided. Any kind of kneepad is perfect, and you can buy them from Amazon or any other shop at a cheap price.

2. Try out these Magic Eraser or Melamine sponges

Magic Erasers are a specific brand of melamine sponge, but you can use anyone. (We have a detailed article on deciding between Magic Erasers and melamine sponges here.) Both of them are a godsend for cleaning your home. They’re disposable, so you don’t need to hang on to any nasty looking, mold-filled sponges for re-use, and they can clean just about any surface! We highly recommend using melamine sponges for baseboards, bathtubs, sinks, faucets, and shower tiles.

3. Attempt this old sock and toilet wand trick

Grab an old sock from your drawer and douse it in a 50/50 solution of white wine vinegar + water. Then, take a disposable toilet wand, and stretch the sock over it. Using this method, you can scrub your baseboards with a vinegar-based solution without ever having to bend over! You can dip the sock back in the vinegar solution if needed. Wham! Clean baseboards with minimal hassle.

4. Don’t forget about those easily missed spots!

Spring is the time of the year to handle all the little aspects of home cleaning that you don’t normally take care of. These are often the same areas that are most commonly missed by maid services, as cited in our blog post. Things like dusting your curtains and blinds are often forgotten because you don’t notice how dirty they are until it gets extremely dirty. The same applies to those windowsills, they may often be covered by your blinds and obscured from view. Fortunately, they are one of the easiest things to clean though.
