Here are some tips and tricks to remove make-up stains on your carpet.
Foundation
- Pour baking soda onto the liquid foundation stain and let it soak the liquid.
- With a butter knife, scrape off the baking soda and repeat the process until the stain is mostly gone.
- Spray enough hair spray.
- Spread the hairspray on the fiber and let it dry for five minutes.
- Dab the stain using a damp microfiber cloth.
- To remove the stain and hair spray residue, wipe the area with a wet dishcloth. Let the carpet air dry.
*Powder foundation can be easily cleaned by using a vacuum.
Eyeshadow
- Remove eyeshadow powder using a vacuum. If it is a liquid eyeshadow, scrape off the excess using a butter knife.
- Mix liquid dish soap and warm water in a bowl.
- Dab the stain using a cloth damped with soapy water.
- Dab the eyeshadow stain continuously until it stops transferring to your cleaning cloth.
Mascara
- Put dish soap and water in a spray bottle.
- Spray the soapy solution to the mascara stain and let it sit for five minutes.
- Dab the mascara and soap residue with a microfiber cloth.
- Rinse the area using a dishcloth.
*Use rubbing alcohol for oil-based mascara.
Lipstick
- Scrape away excess lipstick with a butter knife.
- Avoid spreading the stain or pushing the lipstick deeper into the carpet by working from the outside in.
- Mix drops of liquid dish soap, a tablespoon of white vinegar, and warm water in a bowl.
- Wring out the microfiber cloth after dipping it into the cleaning solution, and dab it on the stain.
- Once the stain has been absorbed, move on to clean parts of your cloth and continue until all the color has been absorbed.
- Let the carpet dry after rinsing it with a wet cloth.
